Resumo

The natural regeneration was evaluated in an abandoned pasture area in the Cerrado, in the Western Bahia, in order to obtain data on the plant recovery process and to compare them with a previous study. Seven plots were collected, collecting the data and plant material of the individuals sampled. The plant material and the species regenerated by regrowth were identified. The results showed that the area is currently represented by 217 individuals from 30 species. The phytosociological parameters indicated that there is a greater representativeness of the species sampled when compared to the study carried out in 2013. The species with the highest indexes of importance (IVI), abundance, relative density and frequency were: Hymenaea stigonocarpa, Tachigali sp. and Calliandra dysantha. Therefore, the sampling area presents the most representative phytosociological parameters, but the presence of grasses is acting as a limiting factor for the recomposition of the plant community.
