Prevalência de Sarcopenia em idosos cadastrados em Unidade de Saúde da Família em Barreiras, Bahia

Resumo

The objective of this study is to know the prevalence of sarcopenia among the elderly in Barreiras, Bahia. Fifty-one individuals of both sexes, aged 60 years and older, participated. Seventeen percent of the elderly had a calf circumference less than 31 centimeters. Statistically positive correlation was identified between the calf circumference and the other indicators that are used in the assessment of sarcopenia.
