Estado nutricional de idosos do município de Barreiras, Bahia: uso da mini avaliação nutricional

The objective of this study was to evaluate the nutritional status of Barreiras elderly. Social and demographic aspects, morbidity and lifestyle profile were evaluated and the Mini Nutritional Assessment was applied. A total of 273 elderly people were enrolled in 20 Family Health Units and 30.8% were malnourished or at risk of malnutrition (MAN), with a mean score of 24.5 (+3.3) among the elderly. The association of nutritional status with sociodemographic and lifestyle aspects points to the need for a multidimensional approach in the attention to the elderly.
