Resumo

Population aging is considered as a worldwide phenomenon and is accompanied by the gradual loss of muscle mass (MM). In this sense, considering the scarcity of information on muscle mass reserve in the city of Barreiras, Bahia, the objective of this study is to know the prevalence of muscle mass deficit among the elderly in this location.
