Councilor in Rio de Janeiro, Marielle Franco was executed in 2018 on the eve of the 2018 presidential elections, a murder with dozens of developments and no resolution so far (2021). The motivations are clearly political. Born in the community of Maré, she was one of the main voices of denunciation against the abuse of power by police forces in Rio de Janeiro communities. He ascended his position of power in a period of growth of fascist logic in Brazil, which subsequently won a spokesman in the candidacy for the presidency of the republic of Jair Bolsonaro, which institutionalized and brought about the return (and victory) of the extreme right in Brazil. . The murder gained status as a sociological phenomenon precisely because it is a synthesis of the representation of the disappearance of Brazilian social minorities. Among the hundreds of uprisings, Brazilian poetry also produced responses to the case. Since 2012, the growth of these conservative agendas has positioned literary production as the operator of resistance through a generation of new writers and poets willing to confront the literary system, occupy the spaces previously denied and to refound tradition. For this reason, in this work I propose to look at these responses of Brazilian poetry to the execution of councilwoman Marielle Franco in order to better understand how poetry connects us widely and with greater intelligibility to the historical present, when its circumstantial relation of reflection of the times is extended beyond of events and becomes a perspective look.
